1. German Fairy Tale Route (1975-)
The German Fairy Tale Route (Deutsche Märchenstraße) was officially established in 1975, following a declaration ceremony held in Steinau in 1973. In 2025, it celebrated its 50th anniversary.
The initiative began with the vision of developing a shared cultural tourism project based on Germany’s rich fairy-tale heritage, enabling municipalities to collaborate under a common theme. It received broad support at the national level, as it was seen as an effective way to showcase one of the most distinctive and representative aspects of German culture.
Today, the route brings together 65 cities and municipalities of various sizes across Germany. The headquarters of the German Fairy Tale Route Association is located in Kassel.
독일 메르헨스트라세는 1973년 슈타이나우에서 선포식을 갖고 1975년 공식 출범, 2025년 50주년이 되었습니다. 초창기 독일의 문화자산인 메르헨을 테마로 지자체들이 함께 할 수 있는 공동의 문화상품을 개발하자는 취지로 출발했으며, 가장 독일스러운 모습을 전체적으로 보여줄 수 있다는 의미와 취지에 공감하여 국가적인 차원의 지원(독일 관광청)을 받으며 출발하였습니다. 현재 65개 크고 작은 지자체들이 함께 하고 있으며, 독일 메르헨스트라세 협회는 카셀에 있습니다.
